Meet the Save the Slifer House Committee
The Save the Slifer House Committee is a grassroots group of community members, historians, educators, and preservation advocates united by one goal: protecting and restoring the historic Eli Slifer House in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
We formed this committee to organize local efforts, gather expert insight, and begin the process of establishing a nonprofit foundation dedicated to the site’s future.
Our members bring diverse strengths from architecture and construction to public outreach, legal guidance, and fundraising all working together to honor the Slifer House’s history while planning its next chapter.
We believe that saving the Slifer House is not just about restoring a building it’s about preserving a story of service, craftsmanship, and community that has shaped the Susquehanna Valley for more than 160 years.

A nurse with a passion for local activism. The Slifer house was a part of my faith tradition being raised united methodist and it being the former methodist home.

A lover of history and music. He has had a personal connection with the Slifer house for years. Having spent a lot of his high school years volunteering for the museum.
